The National Eucharistic Congress was a powerful moment of encounter for the Church in the US as we rediscovered the heart of our faith – the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. The ongoing Eucharistic Revival aims to capitalize on the excitement from the experiences at the Congress and power up parishes around the country to live the Catholic faith more deeply.
Here at St. Stephen’s, we are continuing to tap into that spirit of encounter by inviting our parishioners to participate in the another cycle of the 33 Days to Eucharistic Glory spiritual pilgrimage. We had a great turnout for the initial effort this past spring, and if you missed that one here’s your chance to get to know Jesus in a powerful new way by taking a journey in the company of some great saints of the Church including Mother Teresa, John Paul II, Therese of Lisieux, Maximilian Kolbe, Thomas Aquinas, Sister Faustina and the Holy Mother of God.
In the Eucharist, Jesus offers His entire self to you. This consecration journey will prepare your heart, mind and soul so that you are ready to offer your entire self back to Him. To help you make this pilgrimage, we will be offering weekly small group sessions where you can review your progress with your fellow parishioners & traveling companions, share life-changing experiences and encourage one another to continue the journey toward consecration to Jesus in the Eucharist.
These weekly sessions are scheduled to meet on Tuesday evenings 6-7:30 pm in the Small Hall beginning September 3rd, or Wednesday mornings 9-10:30 am in the church beginning September 11th. Just like last time, we will hold small group sharing sessions for four consecutive weeks and the Eucharistic pilgrims will be consecrated at a Mass in early October. Stop by the table in the gathering space to sign up and pick up your book or come by the office. For more information please contact Deacon Gary.
