All – Over the past several months, we have been evaluating the process for Holy Communion under both species. We have noted that there are traffic issues with the EM’s having to cross in front of the altar to get to the choir side as well as timing issues serving everyone (including the altar servers) in the sanctuary. We are going to make two changes to address these issues. First, we ask the two ministers serving the choir side to go to that side of the sanctuary to receive communion, while the ministers serving on the Holy Family side will continue to line up on that side of the sanctuary. Second, we will have to altar servers stand in the aisle in front of the Holy Family to receive communion from EM’s number 3 and 4 rather than stepping up into the sanctuary. The majority of what you do will not change. We will continue to ask that you put a mark next to your name on the posted schedule outside the sacristy so that the Deacons will know that everyone is there, however we would like to decrease the crowds that seem to gather in that hallway. We ask that once you have checked your name, please proceed directly to your seat to prepare for mass. These changes will be effective with Divine Mercy Sunday (April 6th and 7th). |
